As a Regional Director of Sales- East for VBS, you will be an essential member of the leadership team. This role involves maintaining appropriate staffing levels, developing direct reports, measuring results, creating and executing on strategic plans, and assisting in individual career planning. The selected candidate will be responsible for the existing sales teams as well as developing employees, driving new market share, and retaining the client base in the territory. You will report directly to the President and General Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION

REPORTS TO: President

DEPARTMENT:  Sales

JOB PURPOSE / Summary

The VBS Regional Director of Sales- East Region establishes the sales targets to meet the company objectives for the region encompassing Richmond, Hampton Roads and adjacent marketplaces.  Responsible for developing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and client satisfaction for the organization.  This position is directly responsible for leading managers of the division and indirectly responsible for all employees within the division.

Essential Functions

As the Regional Leader for the Company, must work with and effectively communicate with all departments.  Responsible for developing annual sales plans to support organization strategy and objectives.  Directs implementation and execution of sales policies and practices.  Ensures communications are coordinated, supports sales plan objectives and meets organizational expenditure requirements in conjunction with company procedures.  Recommends sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.  Implements approved distribution strategies.  Manages multiple channel selling strategies.  Builds, develops and manages sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives.  Must travel to marketplaces regularly as needed.

Travel: This position might require frequent travel to customer locations, trade shows, training seminars, offsite meetings, and other company branch locations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Business Administration, sales and marketing or related field, combined total of 10 years sales and marketing management experience.

Physical Demands

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with flexibility to work evening and weekend hours to meet the scheduling needs of customers and clients.
