print relief

Virginia Business Systems is proud to partner with Print Releaf to help the environment and make the world GREENER!

PrintReleaf is a tracking program for paper usage across an entire company, which we use and offer to our clients. It was built to help companies offset their paper consumption with automatic reforestation. It harvests paper data from sources like print management suites and printer meters to measure the company's total paper consumption over time.

Sustainability with Epson

We parter with Epson to help keep the environment clean.  Epson strives to design their business inkjet products to help create a more sustainable print environment–it’s as easy as one, two, three...

One: Reduce Electricity Consumption

Laser vs Epson Inkjet

  • A significant amount of energy expended by laser office printers is consumed warmup and while in standby mode because they need to heat the toner drum to enable printing.
  • Not so with Epson Business Inkjet Printers. Epson printers with PrecisionCore heat-free technology require no heat to print, so there’s no warm-up time. This helps to deliver fast FPOT (First Page Out Time) and reduce total energy consumption vs. laser.
Two: Reduce Waste

With Epson, the “nays” have it—

  • No need to heat the ink
  • No need to fuse the ink
  • No image drum to replace

Office lasers deposit a polyester-based powder toner that’s electrostatically charged by an image drum. Once it’s heated through a fuser unit, the toner melts to the paper, and any excess toner moves to a waste toner cartridge.

  • Epson uses the PrecisionCore microchip and ink to replace all the parts in a laser printer listed above.
Three: Reduce Paper Usage

Epson’s automatic double-sided printing feature lets you print on both sides of a sheet of paper, cutting paper usage by 50 percent.

And, there are many software solutions available that help cut paper usage further by—

  • Optimizing document workflow
  • Enhancing device placement
  • Reducing erroneous and unauthorized printing

Learn more about Lemark Sustainability Initiatives

There are many ways to encourage greener initiatives in your business, including:

Increasing your energy efficiency:

Energy efficient devices lower the amount of energy that your office consumes without significantly changing policies. When devices are not in use they're better at conserving energy, helping to save each month on your utility costs! All of our devices are setup with sleep modes activated before they're even delivered, ensuring that you're not overspending on utilities that aren’t necessary.

Lowering your paper consumption:

Reducing the amount of paper that your office uses each month minimizes your impact on the environment and decreases your office’s supply costs. Unmanaged printing can equal about 1-3% of your office’s annual budget. Not reducing your paper consumption means you're missing out on one of the most significant cost-saving areas in your business. Another feature we ensure is set on all of systems before delivery is the duplex print function, which further reduces paper consumption.
